Council Chairman !
The Council Chairman is the President of the church council. He directs the church council meeting. He solves the problems with in the council. He is transferred after five years. The place where the church council chairman doing ministry is the head quarters of that council. The major role of the church council chairman is sending the decisions made are the councils to the Diocesan Executive Committee.
Pastorate Chairman !
A pastorate has more than three churches and a chairman. The pastorate chairman is the head of the pastorate. He is the Chairman or all institutions situated in the pastorate area. He is the Chairman of the Governing Boards of the Institutions. He is the manager of the Diocesan hospital in the pastorate. He is the Correspondent of Matriculation School, Elementary School, Model School and Middle Schools. He appoints teachers in the above-mentioned schools. He receives the government grant through Diocesan Office and distribute to the teachers. He gives transfer orders and orders of dismiss .Pastorate Chairman is the president of Pastorate Committee property Committee and educational standing committee. The pastorate chairman conducts daily church service, Festival services, communion services and Baptism services and gives special sermons. He also makes arrangements for convention meeting, Revival meetings, Prayer meeting, Fasting prayer meeting, All Night prayer meeting an evangelical meetings. The church catechists are helpful in arranging these meetings. There is a treasures and secretary. Diocesan committee members and pastorate committee members also have some importer roles in the church work. The pastorate chairman visits the other churches of the pastorate and conducts communion service once in month. He also participates in other important functions of the church. He prepares the list of candidates for appointment at the pastorate level. Nazareth pastorate has an assistant pastor.
Catechists !
All the seven churches of Nazareth including Nazareth have Catechists. They conduct services in the churches. The give accounts (expenses and income) to the pastor once in a month to the help the Pastor.Nazareth Pastorate Committee is to assist Nazareth pastorate chairman. Pastorate Committee members are elected once in four years. According to the rules of Diocese, those who are confirmed and take communion at least thrice in a year, pay Sangam of Rs. 50/- per year and not less than 21 years old are eligible to vote. If there are fifty communicants one member will be elected for the pastorate committee . Each Diocesan Institute will elect a number for the pastorate committee. Elementary and Middle Schools will elect two members elected from Nazareth Pastorate will also be members of Nazareth Pastorate Committee. Nazareth Pastorate Committee members, medical mission representatives, college representatives, Higher Secondary School representatives, special school, Teacher Training Institute, Middle School. Elementary School representatives, Pastorate Catechist representatives, and Diocesan Executive members of Nazareth Pastorate Committee. They are fifty in number .
Member of Diocesan Executive Committee (DC) !
Numbers are elected in the ratio of 1500:1 that is one member for 1500 communicants. So Nazareth has two Diocesan Committee members. These two members will take for the welfare of Nazareth Church in the Diocesan Executive Committee.
Pastorate Secretary !
When the members assemble for the first pastorate committee, they elect one member as the secretary. He acts as the secretary for four years. The Secretary will sign decision made by the committee. Then only the Decisions will be accepted. The secretary takes care of the church and schools and he supervises them
Treasurer !
Pastorate Committee members will elect a member as the Treasurer. He is responsible for all the income and expenses of the church. In the absence of the pastor, the treasure will receive grant from the Diocesan office for the teachers. He writes the accounts of offertory and other income. He pays pastorate assessment to the Diocese every month.
Pastorate Registers !
Registers are maintained for income and expenditure, movable property, immovable property, Diocese account, pastorate accounts, Baptism, Marriage, Death and these registers are in the pastorate office. We can know the administrative capacity through the registers.This is very important register maintained in all the churches. Serial numbers, name of the members, male or female, whether baptized or not, whether communicant or not, whether he lives in some other place or local, whether he has paid Sangam and other particulars are written in the Congregational Register.Accounts of offering offered in the church services, thanks giving offering communion service offering, Sangam, baptism service offerings, offerings in the form of objects, church maintenance offering, and evangelical mission offering are recorded in offering register.
Harvest Festival Offering !
Harvest festival offering, offerings in the form of objects, auction offering, date of auction, amount paid for auction expenses on harvest festival and other incomes on the day are recorded in the register.
Sangam Report !
Sangam festival is celebrated once in a year. All the members of each family are expected to offer Sangam offering on that day. Amount paid and the names of each members of the family are recorded in the report clearly street wise. Sangam report is printed as a book every year and it is given to each family. Income, expenditure and balance amount are mentioned in the report. All the communicants above the age of 21 should pay Rs.50/- for four years continuously . They are eligible for voting.
Announcement Note Book !
The special services, functions, meeting in the pastorate and Diocese will be announced every Sunday and they are all written in a note Book
Banns Note Book !
According to the Diocesan rules, 3 banns must be read in the home church of bride and bridegroom, Bride or bridegroom must not be already married. He should not be an immoral person. Banns must be read in 3 Sunday’s services or one Sunday service and two communion services. Date of Banns, the person who read the banns and other matters are registered. This is the banns notebook .
Marriage Register !
Date of marriage, name of bridegroom, name of bride, names of their parents, age, place, dates of banns read, signature of bride groom, signature of bride, signature of witnesses, address, name of church and signature of the pastor are written. Whether the bridegroom is already married or divorced or widowers are recorded.
Baptism Register !
The pastor writes the baptismal name, name of parents, date of Birth, male or female, names of Godfather and godmother. There should be two godfathers and one godmother for a boy. There must be two godmothers and one godfather for a girl child .
Service Register !
Date time, whether it is a communion preparation service or communion service or festival service must be written. Name of the person who conducted the service, name of the person who gave the sermon, the Bible verse on which the message was given, number of communicants, male / female and amount of offering are recorded by the Pastor in the service Register.
Visitor Book !
People who visit the church write the complements and limitations, their opinion and put their signature. This visitor book is given to very important people like Moderator, Bishop Representatives of SPG, and representatives from other countries.
Burial Register !
Serial number, number of the grave, date, name of the dead person, male / female, age, names of the parents, reason for death, place of burial and name of the person who buried the body are recorded in this Burial Register. A fee of Rs.450/- is collected for the grave .
Income and Expenses Register !
Each and every income and expenses are recorded in this register. The income of the church, expenses, balance, bank balance and amount in fixed deposit are written in the cashbook. It is a daily cashbook.
Rice Offertory !
Rice offertory is collected once a month at Nazareth church. The rice is distributed to for poor families once in a month. The quantity or rice collected, names of persons who receive the rice are recorded in a register. The rice collected is no sold in Nazareth pastorate. Rive offertory habit started at the tome of Rev. T. Brotherton. The administration of Nazareth pastorate is very efficiently done. All the above – mentioned records reveal the truth. We have to appreciate the work done in the church.
The Feast of Unity !
Feast of unity takes place on second Saturday in May every year. The vigil service, which is conducted on the previous night, is a special service. The choir sings special songs. Church is decorated beautifully. The festival service is conducted at 4 am in the church. Most of the people attend the service and pay their thanks giving offerings. People donate money, rice, vegetables, grocer and other things. There is committee for this feast of unity. Food is prepared and distributed. The congregation and other people form the near by villages attend the feast and are fed well. The congregations help in cooking and serving food. There are witnesses who say that they were cured form diseases by participating in this feast. A report on the income and expenditure of the feast of unity is printed and distributed.
