This college was established in 1999 by the Tirunelveli Diocese with the aim of promoting job oriented, skill based, life coping education. It has been approved by the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The vision of this community college is to produce responsible citizens, employable candidates, academically prepared students, valuable family members and self-sufficient individuals. The mission of the college is to provide accessible and affordable quality education to the members of the community and hence to the development of the community, economically, socially and culturally. The motto of the college itself is Care, Serve and Uplift the poor.24 The courses offered in this academic year arc 1) DMLT 2) DFNA 3) DPTE 4) DPT. The strength of the college is 167. All the students are given free Computer training to enhance their employ ability. There is a hostel for girl a student which offers food at the rate of Rs. 230, Rs. 250 per month per student made possible by the involvement of the members of 'friends of St. Luke's Community College1 a club formed exclusively to support the college. Students in the hostel there arc 76 students in the hostel. Daily prayers are conducted in the hostel both in the morning and night. This college is very useful to the rural poor students in and around Nazareth.

The initial stage was taken by Rev. J. Ratnam for the well functioning present day Jevaraj Annapackiam CSI Polytechnic College. The foundation for the polytechnic was laid on 15.03.1993 by the efforts of Rev. J. Ratnam. The polytechnic and the Computer sections that were added later were established by the donation from Jeyaraj Annapackiam Trust. The opening ceremony was held on 22.10.1996. Rev. V. Gandhi Selwyn look great efforts to start the polytechnic and to get recognition from both stale and central governments and they got the recognition. Now it has three courses Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology.
